Little Mother Kambree

This was too funny and cute not to put on the blog. When we were at the beach last week, little Dane was eating baby food, and so Kambree decided that she could feed him. She picked up the lid and started feeding him baby food with her sand covered fingers. It was so funny to watch her, because she was being so cute with him.
Although, it didn't take Dane long to figure out that the combination of sand, salt water and baby food wasn't that appetizing. So funny to see her try and get him to keep eating. Kids are so funny!

Hot New York Day

This day was sooooo HOT! The kids and I went down to the Museum of Natural History last week and the day was so hot that we just about melted as we walked from the garage to the museum. Luckily it was made worth it by this awesome little terrace that is hidden in a corner of the museum! The inside was good too, but the kids only want to look at stuffed animals for so long - then it's time to cool off. Here is Dominick tricking Kambree by sitting on the water fountain. The reaction was so funny, but I did not catch it on camera.

Kambree did not get brave until the very end. When she found another little kids buckets, then she decided she could touch those fountains.
Dominick did not waste a second stripping to his skivvies and running right in!
This one is classic, because I don't know a person that has never tried to sit on a fountain/sprinkler - so funny!

Funny kids

Kambree: we were at the beach today and when she was standing in the water a wave came and knocked her onto her bottom - she was so shocked and said "Whoa baby" and I started laughing at her prompting her to say it every time a wave came in. It was so cute!

Dominick: when we arrived home from the beach today he looked up at the cloudy sky (and it was the really thick bright white clouds which I don't know the technical name of) so Dominick said "Mom, look - Heaven is right there in the sky."

Don't you just love what kids say!

Potty Time!!!

This is totally unbelievable, but I actually have three witnesses (even if one of the witnesses was on the phone at the time) that can attest to the fact that Kambree asked to go pee pee on the potty tonight - and did! I seriously couldn't believe it when she was in the bath tub and stood up in her usual position to go potty (in the tub) only this time she stalled long enough to say "Mama, pee pee on potty" not believing her I put her on the potty and then she actually did - awesome!!! Later when we picked Aaron up, she was so excited to tell him all about it, so when we got home she ran straight to the bathroom and said "pee pee on potty" again. I put her back on to show Daddy, and she actually went again!! I don't know if you can feel my excitement here, but I am so so so excited about this - she is 21 months next week, so we could be out of diapers by 2. Anyway, this is just a picture of her after her accomplishment (I didn't feel like taking one of her performing:) - she is such a big girl now! Yea Kambree!

Memorial Day 1/2

These are more pictures of the awesome Memorial Day we spent at Greenwich beach. Here Kambree is sitting in her little pool that Dominick dug out for her. I wish that I could be a kid again - if nothing else to just play in the sand like this again.
Dominick flexing his muscles for us. He is demonstrating his strength by digging several big holes in the sand - yes, Aaron kept asking him what he was building and he would simply reply "I'm not building anything, I'm just digging holes."


This was Kambree's first time in the water - it didn't take long for her to realize that she could do it without Dad's help. Despite the water being so cold she did not want to come out for anything, lips shivering and all. What an awesome day at the beach!

Memorial Day 2/2

Second only to the Gulf Coast, was this beach in Greenwich Connecticut that we went to on Memorial Day. I really can't even begin to describe how nice it is. Our ward had a BBQ there and after that we packed up with our neighbors and headed for the sand. We spent the rest of the day and part of the evening there. This beach was so kid friendly that Dominick wouldn't stop playing for a drink/food from 1:00 to 5:00. We literally had to drag them both out of the water when we left. These are some fun pictures of them playing on the beach and in the water.



I cannot wait until August when we can bring my family here too! Yea!!

Graduation Day

Okay, so completely unintentionally I neglected to put Dominick's graduation pictures up here. He asked me about it last night when we were looking at Braden and Abby's Graduation pictures. So, here they are. We are so proud of him. Of course he cannot go get a job and help pay us back the ridiculous tuition we paid for him, but hopefully we will have better luck after he graduates from college.
It was such an awesome treat that Dad was able to come to the ceremony. Dominick was so happy, especially when he got to watch the video of it that Dad recorded.
This is Dominick receiving his diploma from his teacher Mrs. Kipphut. She was such an awesome teacher and it will be hard for us to get used to a new one next year.
Dominick's best friends from school - Dara and Tasha. They still play often and all really miss school (I doubt they miss it as much as their mothers do)!

May Beach Day

Do you ever have those outfits that seem to fit your child perfectly - I mean not just size, but personality and look? This day we went to the beach was the first day I was really able to let Kambree wear her tanks and this was my favorite! This whole outfit on her is so well, her - I love it! Dominick as well is so cute in this outfit. I still have a little thing for the color orange, and since it just doesn't fit me anymore and I can't find too much hunter orange in little girl clothes he gets stuck with it. The best thing about it - it totally fits him. At first I didn't know how much I liked it paired with the bright blue crocs he insists on wearing everywhere, but after watching him in it, it wouldn't be him any other way.





Dominick doesn't look happy here, but he did eventually get very happy when his new friend Ryan came to meet him at the beach and ride bikes. For some reason he never wants to ride by himself.

Mom's Out

Well, if you look closely you will see that I am completely out on the couch. This was a day after I had surgery on my wrist and so I thought it was funny when Aaron woke me up to show me that Dominick had gotten the badminton bag stuck on his head - and I mean stuck good. As bad as I felt for Aaron and wanted to help him take care of the kids, the vicodin just wouldn't let me. And, in hindsight I am glad I got the rest.

I am not sure if Aaron will be happy with me posting these pictures, but I thought they were too funny not to. Kambree seems to be the only "Negative Nelly" in the bunch, but I think that is more a reaction to us finding and confiscating her spilled stash of popcorn she was eating.

Finally Nice Weather to Stay

These sun glasses on Kambree are much to big, but also so cute. She loves them so much and I am actually a little surprised that she isn't carrying her purse as well. Dominick is here shooting rockets with his friend Dara from his preschool class. They became such good friends this year and continue to play in the summer. It is such a blessing for me to see Dominick find friends and have so much fun with them.

Alien Alert

I am not sure why I let my kids talk me into some things. We had a good time though and it is one of the kids favorite pictures to look at. It is a good thing that the weather is warmer now so that we don't have so much time in the house to get bored and then find silly things like this to pass the time.

The Big Soccer League (or something)

So, this is a classic example of getting what you pay for. Or, as Aaron like so say "not getting what you pay for." We signed Dominick up for this soccer league as they called it where it describes little players learning the basics of soccer and playing small sided games. This was not the case - ever. You can only imagine how I have been fuming every Saturday for an hour of practice where 20 minutes are used for warm-up/stretching 20 minutes of aimless dribbling (no cones or goals to dribble to, around or at) and 20 minutes of pointless games - most of which actually didn't involve the soccer ball or had them holding the soccer ball in their hands (I'd like to know what fundamental that is)??? Oh, and I forgot to mention the 12 water breaks in between - seriously Dominick was out of water half way through most of the time. Anyway, it was a learning experience and now we know that if we want something done right to either do it ourselves or pay a ridiculous amount of money to someone else to do it (besides the city)!




I really must say though that Dominick was always so happy to go and had the best time while he was there (obviously he doesn't know what he is missing yet) :) :). Also, I hope you noticed that he is by far the best dressed out there. He went crazy when I took him to the soccer store to get his gear and it is obvious what his favorite color is (they were out of his size in the blue cleats, his first choice)!

The Last Month or So...

Dominick and Kambree are looking out the window of the train together. Dominick was so cute - he kept telling Kambree what everything outside was and helping her to be brave. They are so much fun at this age.
You can't really tell, but I put this picture up there so that you could see the disgusting baby that Kambree is carrying. Dominick never needed any cuddly thing to carry - he was good with a little train or car. This is so different for me to have my child obsessed (in every sense of the word) with her baby. We have at least eight of them at home, but she will only carry the purple one. That is until tragically she left it out in the rain one night. Then after two days I couldn't take the screaming anymore and gave in. It did take her a while to warm up to another baby (I couldn't find purple at the store). Nonetheless, she now carries a pink baby - with a pink bottle (not the yellow one - ever)!

Just another example of my little princess. She refuses to leave the house sometimes without her baby IN her stroller. So, we have to let her push the baby to the car and carefully put the stroller in the back seat. It infuriates Dominick, but I really think he is getting used to the fact that Kambree (and women in general for that matter) will always win.
I know I have posted plenty of Dominick in goggles, but I still can't believe how cute and funny he is in them. He is done with his swimming lessons for a month, but likes to practice blowing bubbles in the bath tub. Now that it is hot outside though he practices in the swimming pool.

Well, I am not sure that I even know what to say. So much has been happening that has taken my attention away from this blog that I can't even recall most of it now. First, our computer was chuck full of videos taken of the kids that I had to wait for Aaron to burn them to a disk so that I could upload more pictures. Also, in the middle of May I had surgery on my wrist (very minor) but still couldn't do to much with my little cast. Dominick's graduation week from preschool was crazy to say the least. I cannot believe how big a production it is to see a four year old complete preschool. It was awesome and I would do it again so I don't mind. I really only have a lot of time on my hands because Aaron left today for a whole week of training. So.... I am bored! I am going to spend my time posting as many pictures as I have patience to wait for so that hopefully you can get an idea of what we have been up to the last little while.
